Then I heard something like the voice of a vast multitude, like the sound of cascading waters, and like the rumbling of loud thunder, saying, Hallelujah, because our Lord God, the Almighty, reigns!

Part 4 - As we continue to investigate how to imitate Jesus, we should study how He approached women. Jesus’ treatment of women was controversial, even radical to the men of this time.

Part 3 - If I am to follow Jesus, I am to imitate Him. What does that look like when it comes to the sick? A lawful focus on “cleanness” as reverence for God went sideways and excluded people from God.

The Bible clearly says “do not love the world”. And yet God made the world and so much of it is worth loving. So, what am I supposed to do?

You may not be able to define it but if you’ve lived some life in this world, you’ve felt it; grief.

Two 5-letter words have caused more long term damage to people than most 4-letter words. Guilt and Shame cause havoc on our psyche and bodies. Can the follower of Jesus be free from both?

Part 2 - If I am to follow Him, I am to imitate Him. What does that look like? When I read the Bible, I see Jesus approaching people differently than most.

Part 1 - If the unbelieving world can plainly see a disconnect between the followers of Jesus and Jesus himself, then why is it difficult for us to see?

If He sets you free, you are free indeed. But what does that mean? How do I live free?

We can identify with the Father. We understand Father - ruler - leader - loving provider. We have earthly examples of fathers that can help us envision the concept of heavenly father.  We can identify with Jesus as He is one of us. He was like us in every respect (Heb 4:15) Even though we did not meet Him, he is fully man and we understand that.  But the Spirit is a mystery to most people. We don’t get Him. We don’t understand Him.

I have some bad news and some really great news. Before we are saved, God speaks to our identity. We are not “doing darkness” or surrounded by darkness. We are darkness. Now for the good news. Once we place our faith in Jesus, our core identity is changed.

There is a big difference between platitudes and promises.

There are very few things in this world that are sealed, forever protected and preserved. That’s because the seal of man can only protect so long. But God promises that when He seals something – it stays sealed.

There is a very real Fight Club that surrounds us every day. We cannot say that we love and follow Jesus and never get into the ring.

This life isn't knowing about God… it is about living with God intimately.

We all have crap in our lives that trigger a “worry engine.” The worry engine gets warmed up and stronger the more fuel I put in (fear, what if scenarios, lies and untruths). God knows our hearts, knew that this would happen and He has the answer for it.

It may not be a manly thing to do, but consider the amazing transformation that a caterpillar undergoes to become a butterfly.

Much of what we do, what we decide, and how we operate are based on our emotions. How does that work when we consider our decisions and actions “in the Holy Spirit”?

In a world of sin and suffering, mess, and misery, it is good news to hear that joy is possible.

How is it that some people, who look, act, speak, worship, teach, and in all aspects appear saved end up falling away? Could this happen to me?
